"ANTS! ANTS! ONE FOR THE ANT-MAN MOVIE! ANTS!" (Episode #12)

Ant-Man will ironically have a smaller opening than most Marvel movies but it also had a smaller budget, smaller cast, smaller expectations, and smaller hero.  "It's an entertaining movie", says one of our podcasting team.  "It's not scientifically sound," says another podcaster.  And then we're mired into a review/debate which encompasses most of the episode.  Be warned, spoilers in this episode will ruin the movie faster than setting up your picnic basket on a mound of Solenopsis nitens (a.k.a. fire ants).  So get out this week and see the movie and then see how well you agree or disagree with our podcasting duo.

EPISODE SUMMARY:
The podcasting headquarters is mired in a more complex debate than originally intended.  What starts out as a simple trip to the movies ends with one podcaster proudly sporting an Ant-Man t-shirt while the other man sports a grouchy “old man” glare.  Which side of this debate will you support?  You should check out Marvel’s Ant-Man first before diving into our spoiler-filled review (which starts at 24:00).  The rest of the episode is a fanboys delight as topics are covered ranging from: Jurassic World, Archie, The Crusaders, Mad Max: Fury Road, stinger scenes, the shared Marvel Universe of movies, and of course that Batman v. Superman preview that everyone is talking about.  Check your science knowledge at the door and get ready for some over-sized entertainment with Don and Friend!

UPDATE:  There was a moment in Ant-Man where Saturday Night Live alumnus Garrett Morris shows up in a brief cameo as a cab driver.  Don and I were unsure why this was but any chance to see "Chocolate Chip Charley" from The Stuff is fine by us (don't forget we reviewed The Stuff back in Episode #4).  Turns out SNL did a superhero skit back in the 70s and Morris played ANT-MAN!  Yep!  This was no mistake that the producers sought him out so "Ant-Man" could have a cameo in "Ant-Man".  Well played sirs!

MAD 4 MAX (Episode #9)

Some of the items discussed in this episode!
It's been 30 long years since we've been treated to the exploits of everyone's favorite wasteland warrior but finally Mad Max is returning to the big screen!  To celebrate this occasion Don and Friend delve into some fond childhood memories of watching the Max films while playing too many games that cashed in on the concept of mounting weapons onto drivable wrecks.

For the truest of Mad Max aficionados we welcome you to stay for the entire show as the last two hours is our first adventure in recording an audio commentary filled with trivia, insights, observations, and two fun-loving guys just having a good time while they watch one of the greatest action movies of all time with 1981's The Road Warrior (a.k.a. Mad Max 2).  This is the movie that changed Amazing Friend's life and the entry into the post-apocalypse genre that every future film tried and (so far) failed to top.  Turn on your nitrous bottles for one hell of a fun and fast ride!

**UPDATE**
Based on a helpful hint from a listener, we've edited this episode to solely the commentary of the portion which you can access simply via YOU TUBE.  Enjoy with or without your VHS copy playing at the same time.

HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH! (Episode #7)

"Mrs. Voorhees, we're ready for your close up."
Break out the hockey mask and machete to celebrate yet another Friday the 13th!  We've decided to dive into a solid horror movie for this month's episode (and we had so much fun expect a Friday the 13th Part 2 review in the nearish future).  We've also decided on a post-WrestleMania episode set to air two days after the WWe's biggest event of the calendar year.  Other projects in the future beyond our monthly episodes include special DVD audio commentary track episodes for THE ROAD WARRIOR (May) and MEATBALLS (June).  Don and I are having a blast with the show and we're keeping our fingers crossed that word-of-mouth spreads and perhaps we can get a few 5-star iTunes reviews to help us in the rankings!  Thanks for listening!
